Adil calls on community leaders to work for unity

The Central Equatoria State governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has called on community leaders to work together with a view of uniting people and improving the lives of all citizens across the State.

This came during an interactive session between the governor and community leaders from various parts of Central Equatoria State.

In a statement seen by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper from the official Facebook page of the Governor on Monday, governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony called on all community leaders from all parts of the State to work together in order to unite and improve the lives of the citizens across the State.

Adil said he will continue engaging with all leaders from all divides, irrespective of their community backgrounds so as to ensure that the Central Equatoria becomes a strong and united State.

“I am reminding you the community leaders to continue using your respective positions of influence to engage the holdout groups who are still opposed to the Revitalized Peace Agreement to denounce violence and join the wagon of peace for timely realization of sustainable peace” said Governor Adil.

The governor further commended the community leaders in their respective places of assignments for fostering peace and unity which are prerequisites to improving governance and delivery of social services to the people across the State.

Meanwhile the representatives of the Community leaders Aggrey Tisa Sabuni lauded the leadership for availing the initiative and affirmed their willingness as Community Representatives towards contemplating on some of the pertinent issues ranging from land grabbing, roaming cattle, logging amongst others that are encountering their communities at the grassroots.

“The move by the leadership of Governor Adil is a good starter and encouraging step towards full realization of the people’s aspirations especially in the area of service delivery” Aggrey said.
