Kakwa Community demands Justice for slain SSPDF officer

The Kakwa Community has released a statement demanding Justice for South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) officer Lt. Col. Bullen Yuma Sebastian, who died under mysterious circumstance at a military detention in Yei.

This came after the Officer who’s also a renowned Gospel Singer was reported dead after being apprehended and detained at Amiya Military barracks of Yei River County over the weekend.

The late formerly was deployed by the Military to Kapoeta County of Eastern Equatoria State for his Military duty before his death.

In a statement seen by No. 1 Citizen Newspaper, the Kakwa Community condemned the killing of the Officer.

“This brutal slain of Lt. Col Bullen Yuma Sebastian, we condemn in the strongest terms possible as we endure through this wicked tragedy and personal loss. In time, we are finding healing, courage and rescue, and to this, the Kakwa people remain strong and united,” the chairperson of Kakwa community said in a Statement.

The Community urged the Government of Yei River County, Central Equatoria State and SSPDF institution to investigate the death of the late Lt. Col. Yuma Sabastian.

They also demanded urgent, transparent justice to be carried out and the culprit to be apprehended immediately.

The Statement Continued “Justice Demand that SSPDF elements in Yei and those who helped or facilitated the extremist act of the criminal to be severely punished through military court Martial or before competent court of law.”

Earlier, the Civil Society Activist Edmond Yakani had condemned the killing and urged the army to immediately investigate and hold the perpetrators accountable.

On the same note, according to some Media Agencies, the youth demanded answers over the Officers death, citing that they want to know what killed him.
