The President of the Republic of South Sudan and the Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni agreed to iron out security threats along the Juba -Nimule highway.

This came after President Salva Kiir Mayardit met with the Ugandan Minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Kahinde Otafiire who brought the message of President Yoweri Museveni on the bilateral relations with an emphasis on promoting good relations between the two countries in the areas of security and stability.

In a statement seen by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper from the Official Facebook page of the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Gen. Kahinde Otafiire noted with concern the existence of malicious act in South Sudan and run across the border to Uganda and vice versa.

The Minister however assured the commitment of the security sectors of the two countries to iron out such threats.

“We cannot stand when people are being killed on the roads by the people fighting for political dividends,” Gen. Kahinde asserted.

He advised politicians that political dividends can only be achieved through peaceful means rather than waging war against innocent people who use the highways for their daily livelihood.
