Miss Deaf Africa yells a silent cry after been shot, prepares for Miss World

The Miss Deaf Africa, Josephine Kiden and one known as Deng were on Wednesday evening shot in Konyo-konyo area, Juba.

The 25-year-old beauty pageant who also doubles as a prototypical was shot on her humerus (tricep), Deng was shot on his lower arm, and are both nursing woods with pain as they undergo some treatment at Juba Teaching Hospital.

Miss Kiden was born in Juba with hearing discrepancy, she was the first ever South Sudanese lady to represent the country in a neck cut throat Deaf beauty competitions event along with other African countries.

Speaking to No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, her interpreter who is known by her single name as Grace narrated that they were from a workshop that finished at around 7pm together with Josephine then they met some of their colleagues and started to walk towards Konyo-konyo where the incident happened afterwards.

“We were from a workshop, we left at around 7pm and then we met some of our friends, from there we walked towards konyo-konyo run about, we heard a 3-4 gun shots then the last one hit on Deng first and then Josephine,” She described.

She  further also narrated Deng and Josephine were in front of them when the bullet landed on them and then they collected and took them to Juba Teaching Hospital at around 8pm.

Grace suggested that the condition of Josephine requires further medical attention at least in a proper medical facility to get full medical care since she is on preparations to compete in Miss World.

She said that her medical bills is something that still worries her since her friends are the ones standing with her right now, she revealed to the public to contribution in support of her treatment in terms of monetary value.

Furthermore, Grace added that she would not clearly tell whether the shooting on them was a targeted one on one of them because the bullet doesn’t discriminate on anyone.

Grace as well said that the police promised to investigate into the matter and make the public know of the findings of the incident.
