Kiir invites Museveni, Abiy to witness graduation of unified forces

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has invited his counterparts; the Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and the Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to Juba to witness the graduation of the necessary unified forces scheduled for August 30th 2022.

This came after the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro and the Minister of Mining, Martin Gama Abucha delivered President Salva Kiir’s official invitations to Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmad in Addis Ababa and President Yoweri Museveni in Kampala-Uganda.

The two Ministers briefed the President yesterday upon their return from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

They delivered the invitation of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to the Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed and the Ugandan President Yuweri Museveni to attend the graduation of the first batch of the Necessary Unified Forces that will be held on the 30th August 2022 in Juba.

Earlier this month, the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) officially announced that the graduation ceremony of the necessary unified forces was slated to kick off on the 30th of August this year.

In the statement seen by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro told the media after a meeting in J1 that President Salva Kiir recognizes the role of Ethiopia in the achievement of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

The duo also briefed the President on matters related to the graduation, in which the unified forces are being urged to assemble at their training camps prior to graduation.
