STOP VIOLENCE, IT’S CAUSING STARVATION AND RELATED DEATHS

Being a Christian country, the love language that the Christ encourages in the Holy Bible should be our guiding light in this dark world that we are living in. Servants of the Most High have highly condemned the killings in this Christian country, ‘who has the right to take another’s life in this world; when we do not even know how to give life but God himself?’

Reflecting to the hardest time when the Coronavirus hit the world, one common scripture that got multitudes sharing was that of 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. At this time, we were challenged to reflect on our wrong deeds, our rebellious nature against God in regard to living the life of worship to God, loving Him and loving our neighbours like the Christ commanded us to and turning away in total repentance toward Him. But it is so ironical that right now, we went back into the evil.

The number of killings and deaths that have been recorded from violence and conflict within only one year now is crazy enough to make us forget that other brothers and sisters are dying of starvation because the violence we so cherish is hindering us from growing food, transporting it, having stable jobs in the violent stricken communities which eventually lead to malnourishment, starvation and deaths by those factors.
