Cheers to the first batch of the Unified Forces!

Finally, the first batch of the Necessary Unified Forces of South Sudan is graduated today! It is a great day for the country after all the procrastinations that have been going on which frustrated the public. It is a great day indeed because this will mark the beginning of trust once again in the Transitional Government of National Unity since one very crucial element of the Revitalized Agreement for Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

As the country, we look forward to seeing our forces graduate into the great protectors of this great nation. Quoting from the Bible; being a Christian country, “Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” So, we pray that the Lord who protects the people and their property also give our forces the love for their responsibility to defend the nation, protect national interests and fulfill national military responsibilities so that we will then also graduate from being an economically struggling country to one which is able to manage her many resources well because there is the army to protect them.

Last week, the forces were given words of wisdom that are supposed to be instructions to guide them in fulfilling their responsibility to the people of South Sudan. These instructions they will carry them in their hearts every day as they take their commands from their commanders to truly be unified forces with no divisions from any of the ugly factors like tribalism as strongly discouraged by Gen. Akol Koor.

Oh God bless South Sudan!
