President Kiir lauds China’s Xi on re-election

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has applauded his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping for his re-election as the President and the Leader of the Chinese Communist Party for the third term on Sunday.

In the letter addressed to Beijing, President Kiir acknowledged the continuous cooperation between Juba and Beijing.

“While acknowledging continuous and valuable support to SPLM and South Sudan, I would like to reassure your Excellency of my sincere commitment together with the SPLM to continue working closely with you and the Chinese Communist Party in advancing existing cooperation,” Kiir said in his congratulatory message sent to President Xi

President Kiir message was conveyed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as reported on his official Facebook page.

According to news Agencies, the China President Xi Jinping was re-elected for a third term in office, becoming the first Leader of the ruling Communist Party to do so since Party Founder Mao Zedong.

Xi Jinping was also Re-elected as the Communist Party General Secretary for historic third term of five years.

On Saturday, China Communist Party Congress concluded with Xi Jinping solidifying his iron hold on the Party.

XI, 69 has emerged as the Party’s most powerful Leader since Moa Zedong.

Seven Members standing committee, which was elected by the Political Bureau, elected Xi for a third term as General Secretary.

The Central Committee Members also chose the members of the standing Committee to rule the Country.
