Police in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State has arrested four prime suspects who were allegedly involved in killing of 35-year-old man in Aweil town.
The incident happened on November 7th. Dut Ruoch Chieny, a resident of Maper Tit – Agok area in Aweil town was stabbed on his neck to death.
In a statement seen by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, the state police reported that they have arrested four suspects involved in the killing and confessed their wrongdoing.
“This notice serves to inform the general public that, four suspects who murdered Dut Ruoch Chieny in the night of November 7th 2022 by stabbing him on neck to death were apprehended,” the police said in a statement.
“They confessed their crime and they brought the knife that was used,” it continued.
According to the Police, the investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be arraigned in the court soon to allow the rule of law to take its course.
“We know that there is nothing we can say to comfort the family of the late but we assure them and the general public that justice will be served,” the police assured.
Section 206 of the panel code says whoever causes the death of another person commits the offense of murder, and upon conviction shall be sentenced to death or life imprisonment.
