OPP welcomes Mayen’s relieve

Members from the Other Political Parties (OPP) have welcomed the relieve of the Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management minister Peter Mayen, Thursday.

Mayik Deng Madit a member of the People’s Liberal Party (PLP) said the move by the President is appreciated as the President had entrusted the party which it has managed to achieve a lot.

“We thank the President for implementing the peace agreement and for the trust he made by appointing the minister Peter Mayen Majongdit” said Mayik.

“The OPP respects the decision of the president and the relieve the president made. We will remain committed to the peace agreement and the political party of the country” he added.

He said any claimed statement that will be released is not of the OPP stand.

“We have heard the appointment; we have heard the relieve and we will remain committed to the agreement” he said.

He added that any decisions that shall be made will be based on the party’s decision and according to the peace agreement.

Peter Mayen Majongdit the former minister of humanitarian affairs was received in a presidential decree issued on the state broadcast Wednesday.
