Gola apologizes to National Minister of Youth

The Chairman of South Sudan National Youth Union, Gola Boyoi Gola has apologized to the national Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu over what he called disagreement or misunderstanding.

On the 12th May 2022, Minister Albino Bol Dhieu formed a committee to investigate the South Sudan National Youth Union Chairperson over the alleged misconduct.

The committee started its task and submitted its findings to the minister of Youth and Sports on the 3rd of June 2022 with recommendation that Mr. Gola should publicly apologize for the misconduct.

“In respect to the recommendation of the committee and in the spirit of peace, reconciliation and togetherness, I tender my sincere apology to my brother, Comrade Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu, the Minister of Youth and Sports for any inconvenience caused to him and to the entire Ministry of Youth and Sports by misconduct,” Gola apologetically said.

Following the apology letter signed by Mr. Gola, South Sudanese over social media users have welcomed and appreciated the move and applauded the youth chairman for choosing peace and reconciliation initiative.

“This is bold decision ever. It is a decision that amounts to peace and reconciliation and this is the way everyone should take and therefore, South Sudan as a nation shall be reconciled for the unity and peace to be restored,” one netizen, Elizabeth Anguet Garang Deng stated.

Anther social media user said “Even though it was hurting experience from the minister and youth chairman, still there are many rooms for the two officials to come together.

“I appeal to the minister to accept the apology and forgive his brother Gola. I also want to congratulate our chairman Gola for showing peace which is a quality of good leader,” Gatkuoth Gabriel from Unity state commented.
