Kiir appoints new humanitarian minister and MPs

The President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed new minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management following relieve of Peter Mayen Majongdit in August last year.

The appointment of the new minister was announced yesterday through a Presidential Decree read on South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), the State owned television.

The President during the pronouncement of the decree appointed Hon. Albino Akol Atak as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU).

In a separate decree, President Kiir also appointed two honorable members to the Council of States representing youth.

“I Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan do hereby appoint two members of parliament to the Council of States representing youth as hereunder. Hon. Luka Mathiang Western Bahr-el-Ghazal State and Hon. Suzan John. Signed under my hand Salva Kiir Mayardit President of the Republic of South Sudan” he said.
