Mayor apprehends 20 drug dealers in Juba’s suburb

The Juba City Council authority has arrested 20 suspected drug dealers including foreign nationals in Mauna residential area of Juba town.

The Mayor of Juba City Council, Michael Lado Allah-Jabu also confiscated illicit drugs that includes; Opium, Marungi, among other types of harmful drugs.

In a statement seen by this outlet, the suspected drugs dealers were apprehended on Friday during a joint inspection between Juba municipal and Mauna Quarter council in Munuki.  

“Mayor of Juba City Council Michael Lado Allah-Jabu has arrested 20 drugs dealers, some of them are foreigners selling different types of drugs such as Bongo, Opium, Marungi, and others,” partly read the statement.

Allah-Jabu appreciated the efforts of the Sector (2) in assisting to maintain the security and provide protection to residents of Mauna block (2), urging others to emulate.

H.W Mayor also assured his readiness to work hard in order to stop the harmful drugs that’s causing damages to the coming generation in Juba City.

From his part, the chairlady of Hai Mauna block 2 Quarter Council, Mrs. Elizabeth said such types of business will destroy young generation.

Ms. Elizabeth appealed to the City Council’s authorities and the security organs to continue helping them to protect lives of the future generation in Mauna and South Sudan at large.
