Police say girl stabbed to death in Rumbek

Police authorities in Lakes State capital Rumbek said a girl of about fourteen (14) years old was stabbed to death in Mabor-Ngak residential area in Rumbek town, Thursday night.

Lakes state police commissioner, Lt. Colonel Moses Machuoc Bol confirmed the incident to No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper yesterday.

The State police spokesperson said the deceased girl identified as Moch Mouthic Magot Kok was stabbed by a knife in the wee hours of Friday at around 5 am by an unidentified man.

Lt. Col. Machuoc stated that, according to preliminary police findings, the girl was sleeping outside her room when someone sneaked into the compound and stabbed her at the stomach, destroying the vital organs, she then later died at Rumbek State Hospital after being rushed for medical attention.

He however said no arrest has been made yet, and the police are still investigating the matter.

The police commissioner called on the family of the deceased to stay calm and cooperate with police in providing information regarding the matter.
