By Alex Digi

The construction of Yubu Bridge in Yambio of Western Equatoria State has been completed and its inauguration is scheduled for today (Thursday 13th April 2023), according to announcement made by Rural Development Action Aid (RDAA), Deputy Director for Admin & Finance, Zingorani Albert.

“His Excellency Governor, currently the work is completed, we have set the day for inauguration to be on Thursday (today) this week, so that the bridge can be in use by the community,” Albert said.

This comes after the construction of the Yubu bridge was initiated by State Governor Gen. Alfred Futuyo Karaba a year ago with support from United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) under quick impact project, hence implemented by RDAA.

Meanwhile the Governor welcomed the move and promised to attend the inauguration, and he appreciated the organization for the support to complete the work.

“Actually, you have done a great work, the government would not do it alone, your support today made the mission accomplished, I am going to be there with you,” Futuyo happily said.

It is not clear how much money was injected in the construction of the bridge. But the bridge which is located about 7 miles away from Yambio town on the road to Sakure of Nzara County has been affecting the citizens’ mobility of the two counties in terms of access to basic services like schools, health, and markets with their local produces.
