Recently, South Sudan has been put on high alert over the impending flooding in the second quarter of the year.
Researchers said the heavy rains, which are expected to start in June, may lead to a serious hunger crisis with less farm output expected to come out in most East African countries this year.
South Sudan is prone to flooding, which often displaces thousands of people. With poor road connectivity and the ongoing war in Sudan, the expected weather patterns now expose the country to serious hunger.
South Sudan heavily relies on imports from other countries and humanitarian assistance to feed her 12 million people.
South Sudan will heavily dependent on her East African neighbors like Kenya and Uganda, which are also expected to experience similar weather patterns starting in June.
