Church commences 3-day training on discipleship in Wau

Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS) has kicked off three-day training on the Anglican believers and disciples, in Western Bahr el Ghazal state, Wau on Thursday.

The training which convened 21 pastors drawn from both Northern and Western Bahr el Ghazal states, is being conducted in reference to Anglicanism and importance of discipleship.

Pastor John Athuai Gop told No.1 Citizen daily Newspaper on Thursday that the church is interested in training the preachers to go out and teach the word of God.

After the training, the posters are to instill the importance of love, unity, reconciliation and peace in the communities through church services.

“The training is for three days and it focuses on Anglicanism with all its beliefs and discipleship. This training has brought pastors. Six from Aweil and the rest from Churches here, in Wau. It he disclosed.

He noted importance of the training to make the participants inspirational to other young people, saying they will be preaching love, peace and unity among the local residents who are church goers.

Churches in the country have been instrumental in preaching peace, love and unity among South Sudanese.

Churches have not only been participating in promoting peace but have also called for transparency in governance and discourage corruption at all levels of administration, in the county.
