Norwegian Ambassador in South Sudan, Linken Nymann Berryman’s tweet concerning gender-based violence, on Monday, 19. June was incidentally covered more widely and connected to other messages concerning GBV.
However, her tweet reads: “On this International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict, Norway stands with all survivors of sexual violence. We urge the government of South Sudan to take concrete steps to put an end to sexual violence against women and girls by addressing the drivers of conflict and bringing the perpetrators of these crimes immediately to account.”
Ambassador Berryman underlines that it is only through a thorough collective response that security for women and girls can be obtained and that we all can do better on this.
