Refugees receive bulls for Eid Al Adha

By Hou Akot Hou

Muslim faithful in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State donated seven bulls to thousands of refugees camping at Wadwil in Aweil West County over the weekend.

The secretary general of the Muslim community in Aweil town, Ibrahim Deng Akok, confirmed the charity gift to this outlet.

Deng said they went with Minister for Health Dr. Riiny Riiny Lual, who was delegated by the governor to go and celebrate in good faith with the Muslim refugees who fled the conflict from Sudan.

He said that Governor Tong Aken Ngor solely donated three bulls and the other four bulls were donated by the Muslims in Aweil town.

Some of the pressing issues the refugees talked about encompassed the lack of a worship place or mosque for them and their children.

The secretary general of the Muslim community in Aweil urges the refugees during his visit to stay calm and never indulge in evil acts such as drinking alcohol, which can bring them into conflict with the host community.

Deng further urged the refugees to avoid confronting those who lose their temper over minor issues in the course of their stay in the camp.

He appealed to the humanitarian partners to support the refugees with livelihood necessities.
