A car driven by a man in military uniform killed a 13-year-old teenage boy in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal, during Salva Kiir’s visit to the region.

Eyewitnesses say the car crashed the boy at Daraja residential area near Wau Stadium.

“The young boy was trying to cross the road when the car accidentally crashed him,” the eyewitness said.

According to the witness, the driver who was in military uniform came out and burst into tears upon seeing the shocking, tragic death of the boy.

Nobody immediately claimed the body until another young boy was crying, saying the deceased looked like his brother, with whom he came to the stadium, and they got separated due to the large crown.

Meanwhile, efforts to reach Wau police authorities for comments on the incident were futile.

Wau town was overcrowded with SPLM members from the four states of Bahr El Ghazal region and Abyei Administrative Area, all donned in red party attire.

Over 5,000 Party members from each of the state converged to celebrate endorsement of SPLM chairman Salva Kiir Mayardit as a sole Presidential Candidate for the 2024 General Elections.
