By William Madouk

Western Bahr El-Ghazal governor, Sarah Cleto, briefed President Salva Kiir Mayardit on agriculture and prevailing situations in the state.

Ms. Cleto is reported to have briefed the head of state on security and development efforts, including ongoing agricultural projects in the state meant to combat hunger and increase food productivity.

“Governor Sarah Cleto briefed President Kiir on ongoing agricultural projects in Western Bhar El-Ghazal to combat hunger and boost production,” added the statement.

After SPLM rally concluded on Wednesday in Wau, Governor Cleto also informed the head of state on the general security situation in the state.

Cleto had welcomed the President for a mega rally, where SPLM supporters gathered to celebrate his endorsement as the party’s flag bearer in the 2024 elections.

According to the presidential Facebook page, President Kiir pledged fulfilling his promises to the people of Western Bahr El Ghazel state.

“President Kiir assured the governor to fulfil his promise to renovate Wau Stadium and provide ambulances to the state hospital.”

Salva Kiir acknowledged the endorsement and promised to organize an election that would ensure that South Sudan moves away from the transitional government and into democratically elected leadership.

“As I assure you of the readiness to conduct the elections in 2024, the opposition parties in the agreement are also ready and prepared for the elections,” he said.

A mammoth crowd of SPLM party members across four states of the Bahr El Ghazal region and Abyei administrative area thronged the one-day historical event.

Office of the organizing committee Chairman, Governor Tong Akeen Ngor, disclosed that about 5,000 members from each state attended the rally.
