President reshuffles lawmakers

By staff writer

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Thursday revoked appointments of four lawmakers from the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA).

One affected legislator was an appointee of the National Agenda while three others from the Other Political Parties (OPP).

The exiting legislators include: John Deng Obai, representing Upper Nile State; Juma Said Orujo, Western Equatoria State, Badich Dak Wai, Unity State and David William Tut from Jonglei State.

No reason has been advanced to the revocation of appointment of the legislators.

In a separate Decree, read on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC), President Kiir immediately appointed replacements for the ousted lawmakers.

Daniel Bech Majok Apuk, takes the National Agenda ticket of Upper Nile State, William Jabi for Western Equatoria state, Chai Daniel Amou for Unity State and Kasara Riek Tiop for Jongeli State.

The last three are appointees under Other Political Parties ticket.
