Authorities in Lakes State have received 416 heads of cattle that were raided by armed youth from neighboring Panyijiar county of Unity State.
The recovered cattle were handed over to the commissioner of Yirol East County.
The cattle were among one thousand (1,000) cattle that were raided in Hokciir cattle camp of Yirol West County on the 13th of July 2023.
Police spokesperson in Lakes State, Maj. Elijah Mabor Makuac cattle were handed over to the rightful owners.
He said they are cooperating with Panyijiar county authorities and share information in case the armed youth launch a raid.
The Executive Director of Yirol East County, Dhuor Apiu also confirmed the receipt of the cattle.
He said cattle raiding activities disturbs peaceful coexistence.
