Four children were abducted in a road ambush in Nyirol County in Jonglei state on Sunday, local officials said.
James Bol Makuey, the Nyirol County information director, said the abductees which include 3 girls and a boy were heading for Waat from Langkien town, where they had gone to buy food items when waylaid and kidnapped.
He said four other children who were in their company escaped unhurt.
“Those Children were 7 girls and a boy, and they were aged 17 or below. They were attacked while moving from Langkien to Waat. They were sent by their parents to buy food items from Langkien some days earlier,” he told No. 1 Citizen Newspaper yesterday.
The county official condemned the attack and called on youth to desist from violence.
