Police in Northern Bahr El Ghazal are searching a teenager accused of aborting a six-month-old fetus, disposing it in the yard, and fleeing the scene in search of safety.

The accused girl is said to have been impregnated by a man she refused to name.

The incident happened on Monday at Rup-malong village in Madhol Payam of Aweil County in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State.

One of the residents, Deng Valentino Wol, shared the ordeal of the weird story on Tuesday.

He narrated that the accused young girl, estimated to be around 17 years old, was asked by a group of women in the village to mention the boy or her lover who got her pregnant, but she vehemently refused, only saying the man was not within but around Warrap town.

Wol further stated that the situation made the girl’s mother angry and refuse to talk with her for days.

Thereafter, Wol said, in the middle of the day, the girl decided to go to the garden and aborted the baby and buried it there.

“She took Maloda and went to the garden, and without knowing that a small girl was watching her, she excavated the hole and dumped the baby,” narrated Wol.

On realizing that the news of her action had been heard, the girl fled to an unknown location for safety.

According to sources, the police stormed the girl’s mother’s house and took her for investigation, but she was later released.
