Juba city gets 1st female Mayor, minister Moro suspended

Central Equatoria state governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony has appointed first female Mayor for Juba City and restructured the Municipal council.

In series of gubernatorial decrees issued of on Friday, Adil suspended a state minister, making several other changes in Juba city council.

In gender positive approach, the state governor appoints Mrs. Flora Gabriel Modi, as the new Mayor for Juba City.

Meanwhile, Flora’s entry as Juba City Mayor also coincided with suspension of Mr. Moro Isaac Genesio as the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agency.

Currently, Moro Isaac Genesio’s position has remained in balance following the Friday suspension without final verdict.

Mrs. Flora, formerly the Commissioner General of the State Investment Authority/Corporation was relieved from the office.

The first female Juba City Mayor fills in a vacant position created by her predecessor, Michael Lado Allah- Jabu’s exit, which Mr. Emmanuel Richard Khemis briefly inherited.

Governor Adil also restructured offices in Juba City council, creating three other positions of deputy Mayors and appointed persons in the respective areas where Flora Gabriel Modi is at the helm.

Mogga Franco Wani takes the position of the 1st Deputy Mayor for Administration and Finance as Thiik Thiik Mayardit becomes the 2nd Deputy Mayor for Social Services.

Emmanuel Juma Diyo comes in for 3rd Deputy Mayor for Environment and Waste Management, as Mrs. Elizabeth Sarah Doa Zozimo becomes an Advisor to the leadership of Juba City Council.

Mr. Rufas Juka Samuel was decreed out of his position as the Coordinator of Wonduruba Administrative Payam and appointed as the Executive Director of the State Anti-Corruption Commission.

Meanwhile, Towongo Stephen Michael replaces Rufas Juka Samuel as the Coordinator of Wonduruba Administrative Payam.

Stella Felix was relieved from being Executive Director of the State Anti-Corruption Commission and appointed as the Executive Director of the State Investment Authority/Corporation.

As Mr. George Pitia Stephen takes the position of the Commissioner General of the State Investment Authority/Corporation.

Mr. Dwoki Moses Ismail exited from his position as the Executive Director of the State Investment Authority/Corporation and was reappointed as Technical Advisor to the State Investment Authority/Corporation.

Peris Kaji Kenyi Elia was dropped from her position as a Member of the State Insurance Regulatory Authority and has been replaced by Hon. William Tombe Kalisto.

Richard Lokosang is twisted from State Director General, State Ministry of Finance, Planning and Investment to become the Technical Advisor for Finance, State Ministry of Finance, planning and Investment.

Mogga Franco Wani is dropped from his position as the Director General, State Ministry of General Education and Instruction and replaced by Mr. Luate James.

Mr. Eliaba Loro Gala has been revoked at his position of Technical Advisor in the State Ministry of Finance, Planning and Investment.
