Northern Bahr El Ghazal State Governor Tong Aken Ngor visited Aweil Civil Hospital and provided SSP 300,000 in assistance to the parents of quadruplets born last week.

The amount donated by the state governor is in response to an appeal from the peasant parents, to the government, organizations, and well-wishers for support.

The mother of the quadruplets, Ayak Koryom received the gift from the governor, with gratitude, saying their entire family is happy and thankful for the kindness and unconditional support.

She appeals to the governor to always stand firm with the poor citizens, as they have been receiving appreciation from individuals about the gift of the four babies.

“I am glad for the visit done by the governor and indeed for the money he has rendered to us,” she expressed her joy.

“My husband and I will make sure that I will use the money well for nutritious feeding to enable us to care for these kids,” she lamented.

For his part, the quadruplet father, Mr. Anei Anei Thuc, also commended the role played by the governor.

He also appreciated the visit by the governor and gave applause to Medicines Sans Frontier, or MSF, the organization that is helping the Ministry of Health with the health sector in the state.

On his courtesy visit to the state civil hospital, Governor Tong also inspected the general hospital wards, including the department being run by the state health authority as well as the wards being administered by MSF.

He pledged to improve the health institutions, including training medics who would run the hospital effectively.
