There will come a time when my body will be very frail because of the wear and tear of the natural progression of time. I have lived my life like a professional boxer and when the time comes for me to take off my gloves, I will never regret the time I have spent in the ring.
I enjoy every battle of life. You don’t go to the ring with the mindset that you will be beaten, all you want is to take your opponent out but most times, no matter how hard you try, you still get beaten to a point where the only thing you can do is to pity yourself, nonetheless, you fight.
Fighting like a lion with broken limbs is the only price you can pay in life, preparing for everyday battle. There is always no going back. Sometimes you cry your lungs out and other times, you wipe your tears. It is always the beginning when you think it is the end. There is no destination in this Sisyphean struggle, the process is what makes you happy. Find problems worth solving and make them better.
The ring is not for the weak. It is also for the strong. It is only fit for those who don’t easily give up. The truth is that God cannot put you in battle you cannot win. God doesn’t want us to throw a pity party but instead, put up a fight and when we can’t win, it is because we are human beings.
There will always be things we can’t control in life, and it is still fine, things like heartbreak, sickness, and death will come uninvited and leave us questioning ourselves if there is something we have done wrong to deserve it. It is just that life happens. You can’t do anything about it.
Don’t blame life, don’t even judge it, this life will bring you joy for two hours and take that happiness away for years. You can’t find happiness. You don’t have to sit in class to learn how to be happy. You create it, and if you have been looking for God’s blessing, I am sorry to tell you that you have been wasting your precious time chasing the wind.
The blessing of God comes at a time when it is no longer needed, sometimes when it is almost forgotten. Sometimes when we are almost finished, God will just put a full stop and we will have to start from zero again. Life is a mystery; expect a lot of surprises and a dose of disappointment.
You probably don’t know what the future holds in store for you but whatever it is that you are struggling for right now; it is positive results that you want to see. Expect negative ones too. Don’t always be an overly expectant person in life because the truth is, the world will never tell you what you need to hear.
Sometimes it is too costly to worry about the things that we can’t control. Human beings are so smart that they know that they are alive. But this knowledge poses an existential threat, worry that you are not going to be here one day. A friend once told me that he was not sure if he was alive, that there was nothing to show for it. I told him it was simple; let me hit your finger with a hammer. When I looked around, he was nowhere to be seen.
There are some questions that are so hard for a man to answer; this is why science has failed to solve human suffering. If you think you have arrived, something will definitely prove you otherwise.
The truth is, there is nothing special about this life because, at the end of the day, it all ends at death or even nothing. It is a journey from birth to death but in the middle, so much happens. And it is so interesting.
You get born and what happened during your childhood is what we don’t know. Your life has been a struggle to come out of something and it will always be that way. If it is a lot of money that you need, something will tell you that you need something more than money. I have finally ruled out that you will never reach there no matter how hard you try. Even if you are given the whole world, it will still be nothing.
