First Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Torit, Emeritus Bishop Paride Taban, passes away on All Saints Day at the age of 87 years, the Catholic Bishops’ conference has announced.
“Bishop Paride Taban returned to our Heavenly Father” the announcement reads in part.
According to the announcement, Bishop Paride died in Nairobi, Kenya, where he had been taken for treatment.
“The Catholic Bishops and the Catholic Church in South Sudan and Sudan would like to announce the return of our dear Bishop Paride Taban which occurred this afternoon 1st November 2023 in Nairobi” the announcement continued.
The report indicates that Bishop Paride has been unwell for some time, until the Good Shepherd called him on the Solemnity of All the Saints.
