By Aweye Teddy Onam

Council of Ministers has ratified trade economic and trade cooperation agreement between South Sudan and Chinese government.

Speaking after the first cabinet meeting this year, information minister Michael Makuei Lueth, said the agreement was signed on 2011 but it could not be presented for some many reasons.

“It is worth mentioning that this agreement was signed on the 2 November 2011. But it could not be processed all this time, could not be presented for ratification for so many reasons and today it was presented to the cabinet and the cabinet rectified the agreement with effect from today and was passed,” he said.

This was after the minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Justice Ruben Madol resented the agreement again for ratification.

The information Minister did not further explain the details of the agreement.

The cabinet also confirmed and adopted the resolutions of the last year’s meeting, which was resolution cabinet meeting number 24 2023 because there were some amendments introduced there.
