Central Bank governor enhances staff welfare

Governor of the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), Dr. James Alic Garang visited Malakal town to evaluate the progress made and address the challenges faced by the institution

During his visit, Dr. James Alic emphasized the importance of collaboration, training, and commitment among the staff members to enhance the overall functioning of the Bank.

“Together we can improve the Bank of South Sudan we can make it through the commitments, cooperation and training of staff. We will recruit the professional staff to effectively deliver,” he said.

“We are going to improve the issue of understaffing very soon and we began by promoting the staff and to recruit more. It is part of our policies of modernization with aims to improve the staff welfare working at the bank,” he added

The branch manager for the Bank of South Sudan in Upper Nile, Malakal Mr. John Bullen Andrago asked the top leadership of the bank to encourage the commercial banks to operate in Malakal town.

“We are requesting the BOSS under the leadership of Dr. James Alic to encourage the investors especially the commercial banks to extend their services to Malakal town. This will solve the issue of demands of huge money when the public is in need. There is billion of pounds that come to the state, especially for the salaries and for business but as a central bank, it is always hard to address that demand,”

In response, Governor Dr. James Alic expressed his commitment to visiting all branches of the Central Bank across the country.
