By Bida Elly David

Central Equatoria State governor plans to launch a digital management system aimed at improving collection and management of state revenues.

Emmanuel Adil Anthony made the revelation at a joint meeting of financial institutions in the state government general secretariat, yesterday.

In a statement from the governor’s press, Adil said the initiative will save financial institutions from manual data entry to automation.

According to him, the project will be carried out by a private company that will be responsible for developing the system but to be managed and supervised by the government.

“The initiative to be undertaken by “NEXT MOVE GROUP LTD” is aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of tax collections to enable the government to finance its obligations,” the statement partly reads.

Governor Adil also directed the state minister of Finance, Planning, and Investment, Viana Kukli, and her team of technocrats to scrutinize the project and effect modalities to operationalize the project.
