Though the legal period of detaining a suspect in custody is 24 or 72 hours, National Police Spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin told No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper that investigations into Achai Wiir case are not yet completed.

“It was last week when she was arrested and detained. It’s now going to days since she was arrested by the police; she is still in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing,” Maj. Gen. Justin told No. 1 Citizen Daily Newspaper on Tuesday.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspect is under police custody and will be taken to court after completion of the investigations but he is not certain of the duration.
