Another abducted child reunites with family

By Charles K Mark

A child abducted by suspects from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area in October last year has found his way back and reunited with his family.

A ten year-old Abraham Kenyi Jerefino, was retrieved by the authorities in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area and handed over to the Central Equatoria State government.

Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor, Sarah Nene who handed over Mr. Kenyi appreciated the Pibor chief administrator for his commendable efforts in returning the child.

“We thank the chief administrator for collaborating with us in recovering our children who were abducted by some criminal from Pibor,” Nene expressed.

The Deputy Governor appealed to the abductors to use the energy for stealing children to produce their own children rather than wasting it on abducting people’s kids.

For his part, Jerefino Wani, father to Abraham Kenyi Jerefino said he had lost hope that he would never see his son again.

“I pray that God returns more children to their parents more than he has done to Kenyi, I didn’t know that I would see Kenyi again, but God has done it,” he expressed.

The government of Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) has so far retrieved 140 abducted children and returned them to their biological parents.

The area authority also arrested some individuals involved in illegal business.
