President Salva Kiir Mayardit has relieved the Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Bark Barnaba Chol, from office.
In a separate decree, Kiir appointed Eng. Awow Daniel Chuang as the new minister of Finance and Planning, after relieving him from his position as Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Petroleum.
No reasons were given for the sacking.
Dr. Bak was appointed in August last year replacing Dier Tong Ngor.
Before this appointment as Finance Minister, Dr. Bak was an adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Juba.
He has been teaching advanced managerial finance, financial management, financial markets and entrepreneurship to both MBA and undergraduate students.
Bak holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Juba, an MBA in International Finance from the University of Buckingham (UK) and a Doctorate in Business Administration with a major in finance from the United States International University in Kenya.
