Northern Bahr El Ghazal State governor Tong Aken Ngor on Saturday, 16 March 2024 relieved Director Generals in various institutions in Aweil Town.
The institutions that saw the changes include the Revenue Authority, the Agriculture Ministry and the Aweil Municipal Council.
The Town mayor of Aweil, Mr. Zechariah Mou had been dismissed with his deputy and replaced by Joseph Yach.
Joseph Wol who was the Director General at the Revenues department had been relieved and replaced by William Makur Kur who also doubles as Northern Bahr El Ghazal, youth SPLM chairperson.
On the other hand, Joseph Wol, the Former Director General of Revenue was reappointed as the Director General in the Ministry of Agriculture
No reasons were made for the changes, but some people speculate that the governor might have a plan to reposition himself ahead of the impending elections.
