South Sudan’s Dr. Anib takes IGAD role

Former undersecretary at the National Ministry of Health Dr. Victoria Anib Majur has been appointed head of the Social Development Unit of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

The Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) announced yesterday on its Twitter handle about the appointment.

IGAD is convinced of Dr. Majur’s extensive expertise and dedication to social advancement.

“We have faith in her ability to bring impactful solutions to the region’s social development challenges,” It stated on its X; former Twitter handle.

The move of the professional to the team according to IGAD is a furthering commitment to inclusivity and empowering women in key roles.

This was appreciated by the South Sudan Women Intellectuals.

South Sudan Women Intellectuals took their celebration to their Facebook page and posted; “The South Sudanese Women Intellectuals Forum would like to congratulate our sister, Dr. Victoria Anib for having been appointed as the Head of the Social Development Unit at IGAD.”

Dr. Majur has served previously with the Government of South Sudan as the Undersecretary of the national Ministry of Health.

She was also a former Minister of Health in Lakes States.
