Moderate rainfall predicted this week

In the latest weather forecast, moderate rainfall is expected in several parts of South Sudan, particularly in the southern regions in the next seven days.

However, dry conditions are anticipated in the far northeastern part, specifically in northern Upper Nile State.

According to the South Sudan Meteorological Department, light rain is expected in Upper Nile State, most parts of Unity State, Warrap State, and western Bahr El Ghazal State.

The southern parts of the country, including Eastern Equatoria, Central Equatoria, Western Equatoria, and the southern parts of Jonglei State, are likely to experience moderate rainfall amounts ranging from 50mm to 100mm.

The probabilities for wet conditions are considerably high, surpassing 50%.

Additionally, the expected amount of rainfall is projected to exceed 50mm.

Regarding temperatures, there is a decrease in above-average conditions observed in the past week throughout the country, except for the northern part of Upper Nile State.

Most parts of South Sudan will experience temperatures returning to normal levels.

Temperature ranges for the forecast period are expected to be between 24°C and 28°C, with the exception of the northern parts of Upper Nile State, where temperatures may reach 32°C to 36°C.

These higher temperature ranges are anticipated in Jonglei, Unity, Warrap, Lakes State, Eastern Equatoria, and Central Equatoria State.
