Adil orders Ambororo nomads to vacate Yei

By James Innocent

Central Equatoria State Governor reiterated his call for the Ambororo nomads to vacate the Greater Yei area, as the local population prepares for extensive agricultural activities.

Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony issued this directive in security meeting upon his arrival in Yei town.

Governor Adil arrived in Yei Town to join the Muslim community in celebrating the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Upon his arrival at Yei airstrip, he was warmly welcomed by the County Commissioners of Yei River and Lainya, along with other government officials and Chiefs of Security in the area.

Afterward, he proceeded to his residence, where he received a briefing from local authorities on the overall security situation, which was reported to be normal despite the ongoing challenges posed by the presence of cattle herders in the area.

Responding to the issues raised by the community leaders, Adil restated the urgent need for the Ambororo nomads to vacate the Greater Yei area.

He called for swift action by the security apparatus and local government authorities to execute the order, ensuring a peaceful departure for the nomads from the Central African Republic and other regions.

The Governor made it clear that those who failed to comply would face the full force of the law.

To further enhance security and ease movement, Commissioner Aggrey Cyrus Kanyiwa of Yei River County issued a local order to remove unnecessary roadblocks and checkpoints throughout the county, extending up to the border.

The order was issued to reinforce the commitment to promoting smooth transportation and trade in the region.
