Death robs S.4 Candidate

Death has robbed Darling Wisdom Boarding School of a 19-year-old, senior four student.

National Police spokesperson, Maj. Gen Daniel Justine identified the student as Nancy James, who succumbed to electric shock.

According to the police spokesperson, the girl died on Friday night while being rushed to hospital for treatment.

“Yes, it is true that the lady who got shocked with electricity on Thursday was confirmed dead on Friday and it is very sad.’’ he said.

He said a case has been registered at Mauna police station and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

“We have registered the case, and our concerned officers are carrying investigations,’’ he clarified.

Daniel advised the general public to always use professionals in their electricity connections at homes and other institutions.

“What I can say is that such works should be done by professionals because they know what they are doing,’’ he added.

According to the school administration, four girls were found lying on the ground after loud screams were heard shortly after students returned from evening studies.

Three other girls who tried to rescue the victim were rushed to Juba Teaching Hospital and are pronounced in stable condition.

Some media outlets quoted David Ohide Angeloz, the Coordinator of Darling Wisdom Academy, saying the incident occurred on Thursday evening within the school’s dormitory.

He described the incident as unfortunate.

“The loss of a young life is a devastating blow to our school community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. “He narrated.

“Upon hearing distressing screams, we promptly rushed to the dormitory and found the girl in a state of electrocution.” He added.

The deceased was a senior 4 Science Student.
