In another one-sided game played in Buluk Training Centre on Sunday morning, Yei Joint Stars produced a stunning performance, beating Al-Hilal FC Women of Wau by 4:0.

It was business done for Coach Sony Harriet’s side before halftime as her troops advanced to the finals of the third edition of the South Sudan Women’s Cup courtesy of Shara Night’s first-half two goals in the 20th and 44th minutes of the game before her teammate Rahma Cosmas Duku netted the third goal to have a command over the game.

Driven by the desire to win the Golden Boot accolade, Shara Night added the fourth goal for the Joint Stars in the 55th minute from a spot kick to reach the finals three times in a row.

After the final whistle, Rahma Cosmas was voted Player of the Match (POM) for her outstanding performance during the game, while teammate Night equally walked away with the ball after her hat trick.

Night has taken her goal-scoring tally to four goals in two matches, netting her first goal against Bentiu City SC in the return league and a hat trick against Al-Hilal FC yesterday, whereas Harriet Dusman is second with three goals after her hat trick against Bentiu City SC in a 7:2 aggregate win.

In the second semifinal played in the evening between Tiger FC (W) Aweil and Al-Wehida FC (Women) Yambio, the first half ended goalless; however, Anyiet’s two second-half goals in the 70th and 73rd minutes of the game were enough to send Tiger FC to the finals of the South Sudan Women’s Cup and pair up with Yei Joint Stars.

With the defeat to Yei Joints Stars, Al-Hilal FC will now play against Al-Wehida FC in the losers match to determine the third and fourth place on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, at 8 AM at Buluk Training Centre, while later at 3 PM, Tiger FC will thistle it out against Two Times and Defending Champions Yei Joints Stars.

The winners will walk away with a modest cash prize of $5,000 and will represent South Sudan in the CAF Women’s Champions League in the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CEAFA) zonal qualifiers this year.
