By Bosco Bush

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has been briefed on progress of Nairobi peace process known as the Tumaini Initiative.

Ambassador Albino Mathem and Minister of Information, Michael Makuei Lueth reported a “detailed progress report” to the President in the State House, J1.

In a statement obtained by No.1 Citizen Daily Newspaper, the briefing focused on the successful trajectory and expected restoration of peace and stability in the region.

However, earlier on, a controversial letter titled “Fundamental Issues for Achieving Peace in South Sudan” circulated on social media purporting signatures of the holdout group South Sudan Opposition Movement Alliance (SSOMA).

It pricked netizens and members of the public but was later refuted and condemned by SSOMA secretary.

In his remark, Makuei also addressed the issue of false information, stressing the need to combat misleading narratives and provision of real information to the public.
