Central Bank headquarters to be inaugurated next week

President Salva Kiir Mayardit is expected on July 8, 2024,to officially inaugurate the new headquarters building of the Central Bank of South Sudan (BoSS), ahead of South Sudan’s Independence anniversary.

BoSS Governor, Dr. James Alic Garang, has expressed his appreciation for the Shandong Construction Company, engineers, and staff who ensured the successful and timely completion of the new building.

“Thank you very much, and we are ready for His Excellency the President to inaugurate this magnificent building on 8th July 2024,” said Dr. Garang.

Since he was appointed BoSS Governor in October of the previous year, Dr. Garang has overseen the completion of several major projects for the central bank.

These include the construction of a new villa for the Bank Governor, the opening of new branch offices in Nimule and Aweil, the establishment of a branch in Kuajok, and the setting up of a Bank Institute in Wau town.

The inauguration of the new BoSS headquarters building, which coincides with South Sudan’s Independence Day celebrations, is a milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen financial infrastructure and economic stability.

The event is expected to be attended by high-level government officials, dignitaries, and representatives from the banking and business communities, as South Sudan marks another year of its hard-won independence.
