South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) crowned Al-Amal Football Academy and Doves Soccer Academy champions of the U-20 and U-17 Leagues, respectively, on Saturday.
This marks the first edition of the competition, organized by the SSFA to cultivate young talent at the grassroots level. The final matches were held at Buluk Training Centre in Juba.
During the tournament, Victor Nasona from Al-Amal Football Academy U-20 was announced as the best goalkeeper of the 2023/24 league while teammate Thou Malou was awarded the best player during the season whereas Mayen Lual of Hot Stars Academy was the top scorer of the competition.
The Under 17 category shows Lual Ngon of Doves Soccer Academy won the golden gloves of the tournament, while both Peter Lazarus and Luiz Peter from Future Stars Academy were named top soccer and best player of the league respectively.
The inaugural league which was Sponsored by Capital bet Company was attended by Edward Setimo Director of Sports in the National Ministry of Youth and Sports, Chief Executive officer Capital Bet and a section of Board Members of SSFA.
SSFA President Gen. Augustino Madout, his deputy Charles Udwar, and Gatwech Peter Kulang, Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, also graced the finals with their presence.
