If the truth kills them, then let them die

By Ustaz Mark Bang

We live in a community where all people desire to live while others continue to perish, where socialization is dying, where culture is swept off, and where pride is the focus of the day.

Those in government are not serving us but eating our resources, when one is given a chance that chance becomes only the opportunity to loot, steal, and hide our resources none of them will help the dying population simply because they want to solve or get rid of their poverty before reaching to our problems. Here it is 9 months and the civil population is not being paid.

We have seen how those who have had opportunities to get rich at this toughest situation behave, these people have forgotten the fact that they would be succeeded by their children, they would put their children in their pockets if they are nowhere to direct people of what has to be done regarding future governance, the same situation will face them. Please do good things unto others as you wish others to do well unto you.

It’s actually very unhealthy for a starving person – truly starving – to suddenly eat a lot. It’s also somewhat unrealistic. I recently wrote a few scenes in which one of my characters is deliberately starved for several days. I once saw someone fast (just water) for 21 days, and I’ve seen plenty of hungry kids in the developing world who literally attacked any food given to them. People who are starving are probably also really dehydrated. Digestion can also be a problem because one of the impacts of starvation is that internal organs shut down to conserve energy. Your body also starts to feed on itself, and the kidneys, in particular, are severely impacted. So, coming right out of starving, people can’t just eat normally, or even voraciously – their bodies can’t take it. After the 21-day fast, by the way, the person started their recovery with a hydrating liquid diet of smoothies chock full of easily digestible, good stuff. Pretty soon, they are eating normally again.

When a starving person is suddenly presented with a lot of food, their reaction can vary depending on various factors such as their physical condition, psychological state, past experiences, and the context in which the food is offered. Both scenarios you mentioned – where the person starts eating a lot and where they are reluctant to eat a lot – can be realistic, as different individuals may react differently in such a situation.

Eating a lot: Some starving individuals, especially those who have been deprived of food for an extended period, might exhibit behaviors of eating a large amount of food quickly. This could be due to a survival instinct kicking in, where the person feels the need to consume as much food as possible to alleviate their hunger and ensure they have enough energy reserves for the future. In this scenario, the person may eat quickly and without much regard for moderation.

Reluctance to eat a lot: On the other hand, some starving individuals might be reluctant to eat a lot of food immediately, even when presented with an abundance of it. This could be due to various reasons such as fear of overeating and getting sick, concerns about the safety or source of the food, psychological trauma related to starvation, or a sense of disbelief that they have access to such a plentiful food source after a period of scarcity.

In reality, the reaction of a starving person to suddenly having a lot of food can fall anywhere on a spectrum between these two extremes. It’s important to consider the individual character, background, and circumstances of the person in your story to determine how they might realistically react in such a situation. You could also consider incorporating a mix of emotions and behaviors to make the character more complex and true to life. When you say “starving” I’m going to say the person hasn’t eaten in several days.

Thankfully I don’t know what that’s like, but I’m going to take an educated guess and say that if a person who hasn’t eaten in in a week or so suddenly came across an abundance of food, the only thing they’re going to register is that it is food and immediately start eating. A starving person would not be reluctant to eat. Would you be reluctant to chug a bottle of water after running a marathon? When it comes to anorexia or bulimia, it’s the amount of food they could eat in one sitting. The less you eat the smaller your stomach becomes, and this is why they need to slowly build up the amount of food they can eat at each meal. On the flip side, it’s why many people with eating disorders for example binge eating, have gastric bypass surgery. They remove a large portion of the stomach, and therefore you cannot eat nearly as much as you used to. We are really starving no one, not even one person from the same people with whom elected into different positions. When one of us is appointed into any position all we have to do is to either eat a lot or be reluctant. Thanks for reading. “Public Staunchest Ally”
