Northern Division Police are probing a case of assault involving a Ugandan woman and a Security officer suspected to be from National security Service.
A 27-year-old Ugandan woman was allegedly attacked by Deng Marao Ngok at a bar in Juba Na Bari last Thursday at 4:00 PM. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred after the officer refused to pay a 12,000 South Sudanese pound beer bill.
The complainant, Defin Shema, attempted to resolve the matter but was met with aggression. Ngok allegedly slapped her, disarmed a security guard, and assaulted Shema, causing severe injuries.
“The guy hit her terribly on her waist, she has been bleeding so much through her sexual organ,” the eyewitness said.
Despite reporting the incident to Sector 4 Police in Juba Na Bari Ngok was released and allowed to recover his phone without paying the bill. As a result, the bar management filed a separate complaint with the Northern Division Police.
Shema is currently undergoing medical examinations to determine the extent of her injuries.
“We took her to the hospital that same night of the incident and the following but the doctor at the hospital asked her to be taken to a private clinic. So we are taking her for an ultrasound and X-ray scan over the weekend since Juba Teaching said they are not working till Wednesday after that we will know the type and the level of injuries she has sustained,” the eyewitness added.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
