South Sudan Premier League set to kick off

The South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has announced plans for the inaugural South Sudan Premier League, featuring ten teams.

The league will commence on a date to be determined by the SSFA Competitions Committee.

Teams were selected based on the recently concluded South Sudan National League rankings in Juba and Wau. The top three teams from each of the three groups, along with the highest-ranked fourth-place team, qualified for the Premier League.

The competition will be held in Juba and Wau, with the addition of Juba National Stadium as a venue. The league organizers have given all clubs till August 17th, to confirm their participation in the inaugural league.

Malakia FC-Juba emerged as Group B winners in the previous National League, while Al-Merriekh FC-Bentiu clinched the overall championship. Both teams, along with Salam Aweil and Nile City, are among those set to compete in the Premier League.

  3. Lion Hunters-Yei (1 Points)

Group C-Juba

  1. Al-Merrieckh FC-Bentiu- (9 points)
  2. Koryom FC-Bor (6 points)
  3. Olympic FC-Renk (1 Points)

The highest-ranking Fourth team from all three Groups during the 13th edition of the South Sudan National League.

  1. Nile City FC Yambio (1 Point, Goal difference of -6) conceded while in the course of the competition.
