Commissioners, UNMISS discuss development projects

The commissioners of Lainya, Yei River, and Morobo held a meeting with United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), officials on development projects for the respective counties.

The breakfast meeting, organized by UNMISS in Juba, explored collaborative initiatives to drive progress and improve the lives of local communities.

Robert John Lasu, the Commissioner of Lainya County, emphasized the importance of working in partnership to advance development.

“By collaborating and leveraging our resources and expertise, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of the people we serve,” he said.

Lasu also stressed that security would be a top priority for Lainya, promising to engage the inter-communal peace committee and church leaders to maintain stability.

Commissioner Emmanuel Taban Seme of Yei River County expressed encouragement at the productive discussions and plans outlined during the meeting.

“It is through unity and collective effort that we can transform the three counties of Central Equatoria State and uplift the lives of the people in the area,” he said.

Charles Data Bullen, the Commissioner of Morobo County, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged full support for any UNMISS projects that would benefit his constituents.

A representative from UNMISS expressed excitement about the upcoming initiatives that aim to address key development challenges and improve the lives of people in Lainya, Yei, and Morobo.

“Our team is dedicated to working in partnership with local leaders and stakeholders to foster sustainable growth, empower individuals, and build a brighter future for all,” the UNMISS official said.
