Central Equatoria State Governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani has directed the newly appointed Commissioner of Kajo-Keji County, David Lisi Christopher, to engage the neighbouring communities of Moyo and Yumbe districts in Uganda to address the border disputes.

The governor urged the commissioner to cooperate closely with the local security organs, as well as to engage with civilians, local chiefs, youth, and women in the county. The goal is to address the various challenges facing the people of Kajo-Keji County.

“You are going to work there as a son of Kajo-Keji, not a son of SPLM-IO or SPLM,” Governor Jadalla told Commissioner David Lisi Christopher after he was sworn in yesterday.

Jadalla further emphasized that the commissioner should focus on uniting the people of the county and to tackle the issues of insecurity, hold-out groups, and the presence of Ambororo herders.

Governor Jadalla assured the new commissioner of his full support and commitment to work together to address these pressing issues in Kajo-Keji County.

Aggrey Tisa Sabuni, the Chairperson of Kajo-Keji Community Organization stressed the need for peace and stability in Kajo-Keji County.

Tisa called on the Commissioner to work in collaboration with both the State government and stakeholders in adopting a new approach in addressing the issues facing Kajo-Keji.

He assured the Commissioner of the support of the Community.

“The Kajo-Keji people are hardworking people. Nobody wants to find himself or his family in a state of distortion and unable to feed himself. All the Kajo-Keji people need is peace and stability on the ground,” said Tisa.

For his part, commissioner Lisi vowed to work together with the people of Kajo-Keji in tackling issues of the County.

He acknowledged the need for collective effort and support of the youth, politicians, women and chiefs among other stakeholders of Kajo-Keji in improving governance in Kajo-Keji County.

“At the moment, Kajo-Keji is in a critical situation that needs the effort of everybody. I will not be proud of myself but I will be proud if my people will all come together and we join together to defeat the enemy. So, everybody in all the territory of Kajo-Keji are my people,” Lisi said.
