Authorities in Lakes State have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly killing his father in Yirol East County.
Lakes State Police Spokesman Maj. Elijah Mabor Makuac reported that the incident occurred on the evening of September 2 at approximately 7:30 PM in Acholdit village, Yali Payam.
According to Maj. Makuac, the confrontation began when the young man became involved in a heated argument with his sister, who had left home to attend a traditional dance without permission.
“When he returned home armed with a gun, he started to assault his sister,” Makuac explained. “When their father intervened to separate them using a stick, the son stabbed him with a spear.”
The incident was promptly reported to the police, who intervened and arrested the suspect.
He is currently in police custody in Yirol East County, awaiting further investigation.
